As you already know, the workplace can contribute to the stress experienced. Everyone's needs are slightly different, depending on their personality type, which is the set of dominant behaviours and traits in a person. PCM model (Process Communication Model®) distinguishes and describes the 6 personality types that each of us has. What is most apparent is our currently dominant personality type, behind which are the needs and preferences that are alive at any given time in our lives. These needs and preferences influence which environment and with whom we are comfortable working, and which environment will make us tired and want to change jobs.
We have already described 4 of them in previous posts. Today przyszł it is Empata's turn.
An empath is a person who is mainly guided by his or her intuition and emotions. Through these, she gets to know people, perceives objects and explores the world around her with her senses. The empath has a well-developed ability to care and concern for others. She is a sensitive, warm and kind person for whom creating harmony is important.
The Empath likes to be in one group where he/she realises his/her need to be recognised, to be noticed as a c1TP1Person. Not through knowledge (Analyst) achievements (Activist) or values and views (Steadfast) just as a person. He needs a group that he knows very well.
An empath gets to know people by getting to know them as a person: what they like to eat, what music they listen to, how they dress, what is important to them, what needs they have. He is the emotional barometer of the group. At work, therefore, he needs to be close to people so door-closed separate rooms are not the environment for him, and working in a single closed room is professional and emotional death for such a person. He will wither like a flower locked in a hiding place under the stairs.
Because of their need for close contact, they will work well in rooms where there will be a larger number of people or with easy access to such rooms. Exploring the environment through the senses is important for people of this personality type, so they organise their workplaces accordingly.
In her environment, she cares very much about keeping it cosy and aesthetically pleasing, and often asks to repaint the colour of the walls or change the fabric on the chairs to a nicer one.
It does not find its way into minimalist modern décor. They often perceive glass and metal as cold and refuse these materials for interior finishes.
In the space he needs to feed his sensuality with a multitude of colours, colours, textures, styles... His office is cosy, full of plants, photos of friends, children, former bands, comfortable furniture and a soothing smell.
An empath is someone who, when renovating or designing an office, will pay a lot of attention to the common areas that are meant to bring people together and encourage them to spend time together: a comfortable kitchen, a nice coffee corner.
Remember, we are never just one personality type. We have all 6: Empathy, Activist, Analyst, Unbending, Dreamer i Rebel. We will furnish our office according to the preferences of the most dominant type, but there will also be a trace of those parts of our personality that were dominant in us before. So an Empath's office may have the order and tidiness of an Analyst, but with warm colours and soft materials.
Do you recognise the qualities of an Empath in yourself?
