How do you select a crew for a space flight?🚀 Why have so many attempts over the years failed? Why are there so many disagreements within the team? With the answer comes American psychologist Dr TaibiKahler. He is creating a specialised tool for NASA based on the foundation of Transactional Analysis. He calls it PCM: Process Communication Model.
Why did the PCM work well in selecting a spaceflight crew?
✨ allowed the expedition participants to understand the way they function - what is important to them, what they need, how they see the world
✨ teach effective communication under stressful conditions
✨ helped create a team in which people complement each other, resulting in high performance in joint ventures
✨ enable leaders to manage the team proficiently
What does a good manager look for these days to make his or her company operate effectively? Similar parameters, we suppose, as NASA does when selecting a spaceflight crew: commitment, initiative, consideration of different scenarios, analysis of facts, chemistry, creativity....
The PCM model is widely used in business, recruitment, as well as in private life👫It was built as a professional tool to describe the multilayered personality of the czł person. It is designed to facilitate interpersonal communication, understanding one's needs and motivations, building collaborative teams and responding effectively in stressful situations. It is used by well-known global brands such as BMW, Apple and Pixar, as well as many educational and governmental organisations🌍
We invite you to expand your knowledge and take the test Process Communication Model! We will be publishing a series of posts guiding you through the basic issues. The PCM model is a holistic concept - it has its own specific language and terms, one issue follows from another. We therefore encourage you to read the articles in the series and add to the knowledge you already have. Here you will find a short entry on this what your calendar looks like depending on what personality type you are 😊
